                                                     Reflection (Document Analysis)

First time I got the assignment about the data analysis, I really get confused to do the analysis on two articles given. Then I tried to make my own research on internet and I found out that document analysis is just like summarization of the article. I took almost 2 day to read all the articles and analyzed the important point to be written in my 5 pages document analysis. Since the task given is the document analysis about Smart School Roadmap and Smart School Blueprint, I made a lot of research regarding this two topic. I found myself very difficult on understanding the Smart School Concept by only made my reading from these two articles. Document analysis is something that has information. We cannot simply write things without proving facts.Now I learned that, in order to do the document analysis, several steps need to be taken. Its need us to do reading lots of written material which help us to scan the document. During analyzing the documents, I always ask myself on what is this about and why it is important. Everything we write must have the supporting statement.
In reviewing my document analysis draft, I ask myself;
*      In the introduction, have I placed the document in its historical contex and identified the kind of document it is?
*      Where I use quotes, do I identify the writer and his/her position to the reader?
*      Throughout, is my document lost to view to the reader?
*      Have I thoroughly analyzed both what the evidence says and what it does not say?
*      Have I discussed how reliable the document is as a source of evidence and understanding?
*      Have I identified to the reader how the evidence develops or doesn’t develop – a better understanding of the historical period?
*      Have I thoroughly and correctly documented my sources of information?
Finally, I asked myself, what does this mean to me?
